Spread across two floors with two private entrances and a connecting internal staircase, Villa Lena offers flexible, thoughtfully designed living spaces that work beautifully for a variety of group sizes and travel styles. Private parking for two cars is available on site, so arriving and exploring the surrounding area is effortless from the moment you get here.
Ground Floor — Indoor-Outdoor Living at Its Best
The ground floor is where Villa Lena really comes into its own. A magnificent 60m² open-plan living and dining area forms the heart of the home, complete with a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable TV and relaxation area. The dining table seats eight with ease — perfect for long, leisurely meals together.
For those looking for a quieter corner, an adjacent sitting room — which also serves as a third bedroom with a sofa bed — offers a lovely space for reading or simply unwinding.
The ground floor also features a generous double bedroom with fully fitted wardrobes and a large en-suite bathroom, as well as a practical utility room with washing machine and an adjoining WC.
Five balcony doors open out from the ground floor living areas and bedroom onto a stunning terrace — your own private outdoor retreat. The spacious decking area is ideal for al fresco dining and lazy afternoons in the sun, with beautiful views over a landscaped garden, a characterful old olive tree, and the rolling Istrian countryside beyond.
Upper Floor — A Private Apartment with Sea Views
The upper floor offers a self-contained apartment with its own private terrace — perfect for couples or guests who appreciate a little extra privacy. The spacious double bedroom features an en-suite bathroom and a large walk-in wardrobe with a full-length mirror, while a wooden staircase connects gracefully down to the ground floor accommodation.
The highlight? Breathtaking views out to the sea — the kind you'll want to wake up to every morning.
The Location
Korte wakes slowly. The light comes first, sliding down the Šavrin hills and across the olive groves before reaching the village's stone walls. By the time you've finished your coffee on the terrace, the church bell has rung, a tractor has passed, and the Adriatic is already glittering.
This is the quiet heart of Slovenian Istria, and Villa Lena sits right in the middle of it. Ten minutes down the hill takes you to Izola's fishing harbour. Fifteen takes you to Piran, one of the most beautiful Venetian towns left standing. Portorož, with its palm-lined promenade and Belle Époque hotels, sits in between. Spend the morning in any one of them, and you can still be back for lunch under the vines.
What makes Korte rare isn't just where it is — it's everything that surrounds it. Trieste lies just across the Italian border, 35 minutes away. Croatia's Roman amphitheatre at Pula is an hour south. Ljubljana, Lake Bled and the Postojna Caves are an easy day out. Venice is a long, lovely morning's drive. Three countries, a hundred small pleasures — all reachable from one terrace in the hills.
